Demonic Language

Demonic was one of my first successful conlangs (in that you could say things in the language and there was a good chunk of vocab that sounded cohesive) -- but this iteration of the conlang is my 3rd one. Since it was one of my first, there are still some mistakes with letters being in the conlang that should not be in it... So there will likely be a fourth iteration too!

I'm not clear what real life languages Demonic sounds like, but it is whatever sounds "Demonic" to me.

Objective

The goal of Demonic is to sound "demonic" to my ears. What this means, precisely, I do not know. I do not want the words to be too long and I want to accommodate my existing Demonic words.

Grammar

VSO Word Order

  1. Time

  2. Confirmation/Denial

  3. (Adverbs) Verb

  4. Particles Subject (Adjectives)

  5. Particles Direct-Object (Adjectives)

  6. Particles Indirect-Object (Adjectives)

    • NOTE: Object can take precedent in poetic composition or for emphasis BUT it isn't generally done.

    • NOTE 2: In compound sentences, actions/commands come first, followed by emotions/opinions, and finally followed by justifications.

Questions: Add e? to the end of statement

Pluralize Nouns -- Add -n/an

Adjectives come before their Modified (noun-based adjectives) and end in --i. Adjectives must agree in number so add --l if plural

  • Add -nia/-ania to a noun to make an verb

  • Drop -a && Swap -l-/-n- from a verb to make it an adjective

Verbs do not conjugate much, you just say "past" or "future" or "not in the past" or "not in the future" right before the verb.

Verbs do have moods:

  • Dictionary Form == You are in equal standing

  • Add -rr ==The speaker is in debt to the listener

  • Add -h == The speaker is owed something by the listener
